Can any Scalextric car work on any track?
General. On the whole there is very good compatibility between the old and new Scalextric cars and Scalextric track. Newer Scalextric cars can run well on older Scalextric layouts as long as the layout is flat and contains no sudden changes in height such as rocks or banked curves.
Do old Scalextric cars work on new track?
On the whole, yes, a new Scalextric car can run on the old classic Scalextric track. The dimensions of all the interfaces are the same.
Can slot cars work on any track?
All 1:32 scale slot cars will run on your track. BUT classic Scalextric track has a relatively shallow slot so you may find you need to sand down some guides to stop them fouling on the bottom of the slot. I would go with cars that are evenly matched if you are racing. It doesn't matter if you are running solo.
